After winning the World Series of Poker Main Event in 1989, Phil Hellmuth Jr. set a new record as the youngest professional poker player to win this rivaled event. He has won the game against one of the best players, Johnny Chan. The game was a thrilling foray of the 24-year old, Hellmuth, against the more experienced Chan. It was a boost into his looming poker career. Without him knowing, he has slowly been making his name in the world of poker. In just few years, he has successfully honed his skills and has made a powerful arsenal of strategies that made him achieve other record breaking feats. As of today, he is the only poker player with 11 WSOP gold bracelets. His earnings are ringing around 11 million with other income that he gets from various promotional views and advertisements. Aside from that, he has also set the record as the player with most WSOP final table cashes. On top of his unparalleled achievements, he has become a well renowned celebrity on and off the poker table.
